Film Project

 So currently I still remain in the preproduction stage of my film but  should be starting the filming process soon. I have been working on many preproduction things to make sure that everything is ready for when we start filming such as making sure that the script is ready for my actors.  I have recently finished getting the team to work on the film as I might need help with certain things. The people I have all have there own role for the film or are working on the film and they will be listed below. I even have two people for a the role of Dean just in case I needed the understudy.  Marketing In Movies The two marketing strategies I will be discussing  are the marketing strategies of the horror film's "Skinamarink" and "Smile." This is the movie poster for "Skinamarink." It shows an upside down house with a young boy sitting in front of the door. It seems that this poster establishes the tense scenery in the movie as it seems very unpredictable at times. The door is a representation of something that happens in the movie as the doors and windows in the Childs home mysteriously  disappear. The advertisers definitely chose to show the tense unpredictable essence of the film especially since this film is a very slow moving and confusing viewing experience.  1. After reviewing the winter box office it tends to lean towards more family friendly films such as Wonka, Migration, and Aquaman and the lost kingdom. Now besides the family friendly films another genre that is prevalent is more action/thriller films such as night swim or The Hunger Games: The ballad of songbirds and snakes. 2. A lot of the films that people avoided and didn't perform well were movies rated R such as Thanksgiving, Killers of the Flower Moon, or even Napoleon. Now this could be because of the high ratings given to the more family friendly films during this time. 3. I think advertising had a very large role on the younger audiences as the some of the more family friendly films have been advertising on large social media websites where there is a larger population of younger audiences.  Monkey-paw productions is the film company that was created by Jordan Peele. Some of the most famous movies to come out of this company are US, Nope, and Get Out. I think this film company would be a good fit for my film because a lot of the films to come out of this film company are extremely thrilling and really catch my eye as something unique. Every idea to come out this production company are so unique, and I really think my film could be just another one of their fantastic films if they were to help me refine it. Now I believe one of the films that’s closely related to mine is US as it gives a feeling of always being watched or followed and that’s what I would like to convey in my own film. And with a budget of 20 million they made US and it grossed over 250 million so it is pretty obvious that they are successful with their films.  Napoleon is the first movie that I selected. This movie follows the great military leader and former French emperor Napoleon Bonaparte. This movie was released on November 22, 2023 and is a dramatic film of Napoleons conquest to power as the french emperor after the French Revolution. Napoleon is very well respected as one of the most talented military leaders of the world and this film helps bring this story to the screen for many people to see. Now this film is slightly dramatized as it isn’t fully accurate but it is a close representation of the story of Napoleon Bonaparte. Wonka is the second movie I have chosen. This movie is a prequel to Willy Wonka and the Charlie factory and follows the life of Willy Wonka before the original movie. In this film we will see how he met the Oompa Loompas that are present in the original film as well as his struggles to opening his chocolate factory, how he did it, and even his rise to fame.

 I like a multitude of genre's including action, horror, comedy, and even dramas but for my film I plan on going into the horror genre. Now it was mainly between action and horror. An action film caught my eye because I would really enjoy to film a fight scene yet I do not think that it is the best idea because I would rather make a compelling and well-thought out story and I believe I can accomplish that through a horror film. I really enjoy horror films because I love the feeling of suspense that comes with them. The stories usually follow some sort of entity and not although yes it could be slightly repetitive I still enjoy and think these stories are well though are because it feels as though I am watching something new every time. Now I'm not saying every horror film is like this just a lot of them. I think the idea of an entity is portrayed really well though as the characters that surround the rest of the story are also very complex and that's what I would like to es...

 For my final project I have been contemplating whether or not I want to do an action film or a horror film. Now I think i've made my decision on doing a horror short film as I like the genre much more. My favorite horror film is the conjuring and it inspires me greatly. I think the parts that truly inspire is the way that the conjuring builds suspense and that is truly what I would like to incorporate in my film. The Conjuring scene   This scene is a good representation of they build suspense through the use of silence and thats the part I really want to incorporate into my film. I like the use of silence as something scary as even the audience feels like they are in the situation the character is. Now it is broken by non - diegetic music but i also like that as well as it add a level of climax.
