Four P's of my favorite movie.

For my final project I have been contemplating whether or not I want to do an action film or a horror film. Now I think i've made my decision on doing a horror short film as I like the genre much more. My favorite horror film is the conjuring and it inspires me greatly. I think the parts that truly inspire is the way that the conjuring builds suspense and that is truly what I would like to incorporate in my film.

The Conjuring scene

This scene is a good representation of they build suspense through the use of silence and thats the part I really want to incorporate into my film. I like the use of silence as something scary as even the audience feels like they are in the situation the character is. Now it is broken by non - diegetic music but i also like that as well as it add a level of climax. The scene continues to go up and down from climax to the build up and I really like the scary effect it gives off.

Now the fours P's of this film are as follows

People: The main characters are Ed and Loraine Warren and they are based of a real life family. These characters are brave and knowledgable about things such as spirits and general supernatural occurrences.

Place: An old farmhouse. This place helps give it a more old and tattered look adding to the creepy effect of the movie.

Picture: The movie is primarily dark as many of the paranormal activities take place during the night which helps make the film scarier. The movie is also usually in a cold tone, meaning it accents lighter colors such as blue's. This tone adds to the dark story of the film.

Plot: The Conjuring is a true story which follows the paranormal investigators Ed and Loraine Warren being called to an old farmhouse due to paranormal activity. Through their time there they encounter many paranormal events and try to help the family who called them get to the bottom of it and ultimately stop the occurrences.
