Film Project

      I had to create a poster and an online ad for the black mirror episode nose dive. In this episode we see the main character go through many obstacles to get to her friends wedding. In this world though everything is revolved around social media and rankings. Our protagonist starts out with a good rating and her rating depletes causing her to have so many issues just because her rating is low. I mainly focused on the topic of how these ratings show someones worth. I really wanted to show the importance of these ratings so I made that the main focal points of the advertisements. For the poster I attempted to create my own poster from scratch I believe I did somewhat well as it does contain the main focus I wanted to hit in the promotion. I worked on a website called canva to create this, I had colored in the background and put the stars to represent the ratings. My group has made relatively good progress on the video as we only had one day of shooting but have a whole scene done. We have many locations to film in so they might take a little bit longer to get the rest of the shots. The editor of the music video has also put together a rough draft of sorts in order to see how the shot composition will work for the opening of the music video. My group did plan to film at the football game but they ended up not filming there which might've been a blessing in disguise. This is because I believe that the football game is not a good place to film as you cannot control your surroundings which could cause rushing the filming causing you to get back shots. Other than that my group has mad pretty good progress so far and I'm excited to see what they do next.  The song that my group has chosen is Breakout by N.E.R.D. I have taken on the responsibility of promoting the music video that my group creates The group I am working with have (in my opinion) a great taste in music so when they chose this song and I listened to it for the first time I was surprised as this song is very good yet not as popular as many other choices. However, Breakout wasn't the first song my group chose, the first song was "Passin' Me By" by The Pharcyde. Now although the song is good I believe it is much more limited than Breakout in the sense of making a story and music video so when they changed it I was very happy because I believe it will give them a chance to make the best music video they can. My group is a dedicated bunch because they have a passion in music. I believe they will continue to be devoted towards producing a good music video.
