Planning My Creative Critical Reflection Essay.

• How do your products represent social groups or issues?

- My film mainly represents the social group of people who are affected by mental issues. The social issues that it will discuss is the decreasing number of people who seek mental help when it comes to having mental disorders. This is a huge issue in our time as more and more people are getting diagnosed with mental health disorders. Now even though people are being diagnosed more that doesn't mean that more people are going to seek help. This is shown in my main character as he has the sleep disorder parasomnia and dysthymia which is a mild form of depression but refuses to seek help. This reluctance is seen more in men that's why I made sure to make this character a male.

• How do the elements of your production work together to create a sense of ‘branding’?

- My production is very easy to make into a branding as there are thousands of examples of horror branding. My main brand with this film is the idea of a dream sequence and plan to use that brand to help me promote the film online. I plan on creating a trailer and making it very related to dreams and making it seem like everything was fake.

How do your products engage with the audience?
- My products engage with the audience as it is extremely relatable to the audience that I'm going for as it discusses some of the bad things that people experience when searching for mental health help. Since my audience is younger the characters are going to resemble a younger group of people. This will hopefully make the film much more relatable to the audience which will make the audience engage more with the film.

• How did your research inform your products and the way they use or challenge conventions
- My research informed me about how mental illness diagnoses work and people are reluctant to go and get diagnosed. This showed me that it challenges the conventions of healthy characters as many characters in media are seen as healthy with no issues but that's not the case in this day in age as teens are being diagnosed with mental health issues everyday.
