Sweding Project
For my sweding project my partners and I chose to do two scenes from the movie "SuperBad" a short synopsis of this movie is "Two inseparable best friends navigate the last weeks of high school and are invited to a gigantic house party. Together with their nerdy friend, they spend a long day trying to score enough alcohol to supply the party." My group took two of the most popular scenes from the movie about the fake ID with the name McLovin. We chose these clips as they both are extremely comical and very recognizable.
There was many experiences during this film one being filming at "Wings Plus" as our substitute for a convenience store, it was much easier to film there as I have connections with the owner and had previously asked for permission to film at the restaurant for the scene. Doing this got us more realism in our scene as we used and actual beer bottle for the prop as well as we had an actual employee acting in the film as the bartender. I really like how we did it as it added many effects of realism to our project as we had gone to an actual location with actual props and actual employees for our actors which all aided in giving us a realistic element towards our project.
My group has already finished our project and many things went well throughout the process of filming. One main thing that went well was that the editing process was extremely easy for our group as we had already organized all our clips and we had to just combine them together and cut unnecessary parts out. Another good thing about the production of our film was that it was a comedy scene so we didn't have to be so serious when filming our scene which made it a much more enjoyable time to be filming with my group. We also had a lot of planning for our film which helped make it much easier to film everything. We had an entire color coded script with many notes for the cinematography aspect of our film as well as we had planned out where we would shoot and when and how we would get there. All those things together really helped us organize the making of this project, making it easier for everyone.
The biggest challenges for my group was time. We were on a very strict time schedule as many of us had to do stuff after filming and we had to make sure we had time for that. Another problem with time is that we weren't keeping track of our time and how long we were filming, by the time the first scene was done it was around 5:00 pm which wasn't our initial plan as we had planned to be at the second location by then. The lack of keeping a keen eye on our time resulted in us having to do less takes for some scenes causing the quality of our film to diminish.
Our project required us to make our own version of the McLovin ID which I believe turned out to be really good. Above is the original version of the McLovin ID and below is the one we created.
